Project Working Mom Scholarship Winner - Tiffany Rauch

Tiffany Rauch

Bachelor's in Business Administration
DeVry University

When I found out there was online classes that are available I thought wow I can actually go back to school. I found it really hard taking care of my baby, trying to work and going to school full-time at a college. It seemed like there was no time to be able to spend with my baby boy and watch him go up and be there for him like a mom should be. That is when I heard about DeVry University offering online courses to their students. So, I took my chance applying and was able to get in. Now, I am able to achieve my goals like I have always planned.

My long-term goals to achieve are to graduate from college with a CPA, to become a role model for my son, and to be able to build a house.

To become Certified Public Accountant (CPA) has been my dream ever since I can remember. When I had my son I thought I lost the chance to become something that I wanted to be. Online courses are available to me now. So, now I have the time to attend school and still be a mom to my baby. Now, I have the chance to be able to fulfill my dream and I am going to rock with it the best possible way I can.

I have the chance to become someone that my son could look up to. Just like Spider Man at this point is his hero. Eventually, I will be that someone that he will need to be there for him and give him advice. Of course he wont come to me for every little bit advice because he will become a young man and he will need a mans advice. Since I will be the one with the educational background I will be able to help him on his school work help him make the right decision and help make those dreams come true in his life. Even though his dreams have yet begun I can help him achieve them and try out his goals in life. My son will have the chance to become something with my help.

To buy a piece of land and build my home the way I put it together in my head will be an awesome achievement to succeed. My dream house is supposed to have a little bit of me inside its walls. It will be the most peaceful place on earth almost just like heaven because I had it built to accommodate me and my son.

My son is the most important thing to me. I don't want to chance my friendship with him to succeed in life. That is why I am choosing online classes since he is at school during the day now I can go to work and support me and him while I am still attending classes at night while my son is in bed or even with my work schedule.

I only work half of the day so I have three hours to my self before my son comes home. In those three hours I could attend school have my homework and assignments done for the day before he even comes home. That still gives me the rest of the day with him and still keeps our routine in order so he doesn't feel left out. Thank God for online classes to make it possible for a mother like me to be able to finish their dreams as well as making new ones in their little ones heads. It makes dreams easier to succeed and to accomplish them.

About Victoria

Hello. I was born and raised in Indiana, and am the youngest of four children. When I was growing up, I had to help my oldest sister a lot because she is a person with disabilities. We got really close, and she taught me a lot about women's history, and how to take pride in being a strong woman. After high school, I enrolled at Smith, a small liberal arts women's college. At my school, I studied alongside non-traditional students, who taught me things that weren't in our lectures. The non-traditional students were women 25+. They were mothers, wives, divorcees, widows, sisters, aunts, nieces. Our oldest graduate earned her degree at age 83! Today, I am a New Jerseyan working at eLearners.com, helping build a website that is dedicated to non-traditional students enrolling in online degree programs.
