If you want to discuss your program, successes and challenges, I'd like to be a part of it. I will be doing this for another 1 1/2 years, so I'll be here a while. I'm studying for my B.A. in Communication Studies at Ashford University.

I'm A Student and I regret it

All I did was see an ad of Obama saying " working Moms go back to school" I ws only curious someone contacted me. The next thing I know was I was enrolled, they got me a grant"they said" I was also told that I would get part of the grant to help with expences get a lap top for school etc. I was to get this money after I start on 6/22/09 and 2 weeks later I'd get it. Well here we are over a month and nothing. I explained that I could not find a job the city came to cut the utilities, now what do I do. I'm completely lost in school and failing , I have a niece who was admitted to St. Judes with a brain tumor and I'm a mess what do I do?

Getting started, again

I'm so excited. I'm going to finish my communications degree at Ashford University. They will accept up to 99 transfer credits and I can take a class at a time every five to six weeks. Pretty crucial when you're working, have a family and are trying to go to school at the same time. But I'm going to do it.

It's been 23 years since I was in college, in a traditional college classroom. I was so disappointed. I didn't finish in four years, and I didn't have the finances to finish. Now I've had a career and worked in jobs I never expected. I've raised my son who is now in college. I've done some volunteer work that has made me very proud. But I still feel I've left this unfinished.

I want to start now. Patience isn't one of my best qualities. I know there's admissions, transfer credit evaluation, enrollment. But I'm so excited -- I want to get going. I can't wait to do this.
